Stabilisation is the treatment of soil with a binder. The binder enhances the physical properties of the soil, making it load bearing. It increases the shear strength of the ground and lets us control the level of shrinkage.
Since 1958, Jennings has provided stabilisation services as a primary and secondary contractor on demolition and construction projects.
We offer a variety of different techniques and materials for soil and ground stabilisation. Most projects call for cement or lime. It depends on the intended purpose of the ground after it has been stabilised.
Soil can be stabilised in a variety of different ways.
Modification and improvement of soil normally requires the introduction of small amounts of quicklime to the soil. This creates solid ground for a house.
If greater stabilisation is needed, cement is used. Soil-cement is a highly compacted mixture of soil and aggregate. It is ideal for roads and pavements.
Modified bulk fill is another technique available to us. This is where we use mixers to create a modified soil using cement as the binder.
The correct binder and technique depends on the site and the intended purpose of the ground. We can advise and recommend the best options. Just get in touch for a chat and we’ll give you a helping hand.
