Cut and Fill

Cut and fill is an excavation technique where we cut earth from one area and use it to fill other areas on site.

Cut and fill

Since 1958, Jennings has provided cut and fill services to the construction industry. Our extensive experience enables us to survey any site and provide meaningful advice without considerable investment on your part.

We can use the technique to make embankments, elevations or to make ground more level, such as if a site is sloped front to back or back to front. These processes are necessary for many construction projects to go ahead. This process can also be utilised after demolition, to ready a site for new foundations.

The amount of material cut roughly matches the amount of material needed to fill. Where this isn’t the case, cuts can be distributed elsewhere on site, spread out, or taken away for recycling. We handle all of this for you. Your project will be managed by our experienced team of engineers.

Why choose Jennings?

Jennings has over 50 years’ experience in the industry. We can work as a primary or secondary contractor on your project.

Our experience makes us one of the most knowledgeable firms. We provide invaluable advice to construction companies and property developers who have sites that need to be cut. The technique is relatively simple, but the work involved is strenuous, which is why we invest in the best equipment and people.

When the process is applied to earthwork, earth is simply moved from one place to another on the same site. We ‘cut’ earth and ‘fill’ it elsewhere. This process is required to level sites and it is also useful for embankments and elevations.

We would be happy to survey your site and provide advice. With over 50 years’ experience under our belts, you can trust us to get the job done.
